Enable notifications on Shyfter

Notifications ensure you never miss important updates about your schedule, shifts, or requests. Here’s how to configure them on different levels:

1. Notifications in User Profile (Web)

In the user portal (admin access):

▶️ Types of notifications
You can enable or disable notifications for the following channels:

📧 By email
📱 By SMS
📲 Via the mobile app (push notifications)

▶️ Available types of alerts
Check the notifications you want to receive:

✅ Booking of open shifts
✅ Clocking in/out
✅ Change requests

📍 Access: User Settings > Alerts and Notifications

2. Clocking Notifications (Web)

Specific alerts can be set for forgotten clock-ins or clock-outs.

▶️ Available options:

⏱ Notify an admin if a user does not clock in or out
⏰ Notify a user before their shift ends
🔁 Automatically close missed clocking actions

📍 Access: Settings > Clocking > Notifications

3. Notifications in the Shyfter Staff Mobile App

Users can also manage their preferences via the app:

▶️ App Settings:

✅ Activate email notifications
✅ Activate app notifications

📍 Access: Shyfter Staff > Settings > Notifications

⚠️ Push notifications only work if the app is installed on the phone.

4. Phone Settings (iPhone / Android)

📱 iPhone:

-Go to Settings > Notifications > Shyfter
-Enable “Allow Notifications”
-Choose the display styles:

Lock Screen
Notification Center
Banners

🤖 Android:

-Go to Settings > Apps > Shyfter > Notifications
-Enable all required permissions

✅ Best Practices

-Make sure notifications are enabled at every level (profile, app, phone settings)

If you're not receiving notifications, check that:

-The app is properly installed
-Notifications are allowed by the system
-For clocking alerts: time settings match your team’s needs
