Tablet attendance - Shyfter POS Application
The Shyfter POS app works on any Android or IOS tablet, regardless of the brand.
However, we advise you not to choose a screen that is too small. A 10-inch screen (10.1) is ideal; it does not take up too much space in your establishment, and all the text information is large enough for quick use.
The tablet must be at least connected to your Wi-Fi network. If you are outside, opt for a 4G tablet.
The required Android version must be at least "Android 8.1 Oreo".
The lifespan of a tablet is approximately 1-2 years when it is constantly plugged in.
By subscribing to Shyfter, you have access to different check-in solutions.
One of them is tablet clocking via our Shyfter POS app. How to download the Shyfter POS app? Very simple, just go to Google Play or the iPad version App Store and download the Shyfter POS app.
Initialize the Shyfter POS app. Once the app is installed on your tablet, you need to initialize it by entering a unique code, your API key. You will find your API key by going to the "Account Settings" section "Account Settings", in the “Check-in” section. The API key is located at the bottom of the page.
Launch the app by clicking on the Shyfter POS icon.
Simply copy the API key into the designated field, then click on "Register Tablet".
The app is now initialized, rest assured, you will only need to do this once.
By default, the app automatically returns to the current time, just tap anywhere on the screen to start or end a shift.
If you do not need to take photos, you can disable the camera of your Shyfter POS V3 check-in device.
Go to your settings ⚙️(top right of your dashboard) then to "Account Settings" -> "Shyfter App"
In the SHYFTER POS V3 (CHECK-IN TABLET) section, uncheck the option: “Automatically take a photo during clock-ins”.
Do not forget to save, and it’s done 😍
Very simple, the API key is in your settings ⚙️(top right of your dashboard), then go to “Account Settings”, “Check-in”. At the bottom of the page, you will find your API key.
It is used to link the check-in tablet to your Shyfter account.
To record an attendance, simply tap anywhere on the screen (green background with clock). A new screen appears with the list of your staff on the left and a numeric keypad on the right.
Select your name on the left and enter your personal PIN code to check in.
As soon as the attendance has started, a confirmation screen appears. A photo of the employee is taken at the time of attendance, quite handy for control purposes (work attire, for example).
Photos are not accessible and are available only upon request.
If you wish, you can also disable this feature.
To stop the attendance, simply repeat the same procedure, select a name + pin code + Check-out.
To record breaks during a shift, simply do exactly the same as to start a shift (name + pin code).
Select "Pause" (just to the right of the check-out button) and your break begins.
When you return from your break, do exactly the same (identification by pin code).
To stop your break, select "End my break", if you want to end your shift directly after your break, select "Check-out" and both your break and shift will be stopped.
